Hello crafty friends! I have a card for you today that combines coloured images and patterned papers to make a scene. Some of you may know that while we’ve been in Australia, we’ve been living really close to the beach. We walk to the beach most nights to watch the sunset. There are no beach huts at our beach. In fact, there are almost no people at all! (the perfect beach!) But I love the whimsy of beach huts.
The background paper is from the Beach Huts 6 x 6 papers from Paper Rose Studio. I chose a paper with a beach scene on it (part of the scene is now covered). I used a new to me Pierced Rectangle die to cut this paper out with a little dotted border. I then used the colours on the paper for the inspiration for the rest of the card.
Choosing colours that matched the background, I stamped the feature image, Paper Rose’s Beach Hut 1, and coloured it with Copic markers. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the stamping, because this doesn’t bleed when you colour over it with alcohol markers. I then cut the image out with scissors, leaving a small white margin. I popped this beach hut up with foam tape.
Finally, I added a sentiment from the All Occasions Sentiment Sheets, and the card was complete. I thought I’d sneak it onto my blog before I head back to snowy Tokyo in another week or so!
Until next time, may your days be carefree. Stay safe.
Blessings,
