Hello friends! To kick off my month of featuring Paper Rose stencils I’m cracking out one of my favourites, the Sprinkles 6×6 stencil! This is such an easy stencil to use and is super versatile, but today I’m sharing how to make a sparkly rainbow background so let’s get into it!
Paper Rose Products used: Sprinkles Stencils, Birthday Cake Die Set, Stitched Rectangles Nesting Dies, Black and White Sentiment Sheets, Smooth White Cardstock, Candy Buffet Shaker Mix, Inks in Poppy, Tangerine, Lemon, Lime, Pool and Lilac, Blending Brushes, Liquid Glue
Other products used: Black Cardstock, Double sided Tape, Foam Tape, Alcohol Ink Markers, Nuvo Moonstone paste
Technique:
- Take a sheet of Smooth White Cardstock and fold it in half to create your card base, then set aside.
- Place stencil over piece of Smooth White Cardstock and using blending brushes plus the inks listed above create a diagonal rainbow. Leave the stencil in place and wipe off excess ink with a cloth. Using a palette knife, spread the paste over top of your design in patches leaving some area plain. Allow to dry for a minute then remove stencil and wash in warm water immediately. Set cardstock aside to dry fully.
- Die cut cake and candles from Smooth White Cardstock and colour with alcohol ink markers. Use double sided tape to keep it all together as one piece. Allow die cuts to dry, then add candies from the Candy Buffet shaker mix with a drop of glue.
- Cut a panel of black cardstock using the largest stitched rectangle die, then the white stenciled panel from the second largest, and glue both to the front of your card base. Foam mount your cake, then add a small piece of black cardstock behind your sentiment and glue to card front.
Thanks for visiting! See you next time, Kelly
